The appointment with the orthopedist was okay but, as I'd suspected, didn't resolve much. In short, he's really got no idea what could be wrong. He said because my pain has moved around Lyme disease comes to mind so I was tested for that, along with a full blood panel to check for any number of other things. And while we wait for the results he wants me to schedule an appointment with a physical therapist.
And that's it. Not terribly successful. But at least the pain has lessened considerably these past few days.
Ugh. I'm glad you feel better, though, and hopefully it's no big deal.
I'm sure a lot of the stress has gone away too! :D
My advice on physical therapy: if you can choose where to go, ask the receptionist to what extent patients are left waiting just sitting with an ice pack / heating pad as the PTs and PTAs scramble to fit as many patients in as possible. Every PT office I've been to has been over-scheduled + under-staffed. Obviously in this sort of situation, you want the first appointment in the morning.
What a pain (no pun intended!). Indeed, that's why I don't often go to the doc for muscular pain, but your situation sounded extreme. Good luck.
Hang in there, Cheeky.
How frustrating! I hope it gets figured out soon.
it's so annoying when doctors are not able to fix what's up! You should not have to live like this. I'm glad to hear the pain has decreased.
I guess that's something, but really, didn't you want to smack him when he had no answer? There's a reason it's called medical "practice."
Perhaps this guy needs some new magic fire sticks and a younger goat?
Were the blood tests OK? Are you going to see someone else to investigate further?
i do hope you continue to feel better! give those cutie dogs a sniff from daisy!
