Wow. Just wow. Do a search on Techorati and about 50% al all Sopranos posts have "WTF?" in the titles. LOL
I got sucked into the suspense the last 10 minutes like everyone else. Every time someone walked in to that damn diner I was feaking out. In a way I'm frustrated by the "non-ending" and in a way I appreciate the lack of closure and unique ending David Chase chose to provide. It will definitely have people talking more than one of the more predictable anticipated endings. Does the family just continue on as "normal" with Tony always on edge, waiting and watching everyone around him?... Does Tony get hit while watching Meadow walk in, thus the quick cut to the black screen?... Or, as one blogger put it, are we to assume they all die from high cholesterol?
It's up to your imagination, folks. (Or, wait until the DVD is released in which I assume they'll have all the multiple endings they shot.)
Bada Bing.
Seems like its for the best that I've never had HBO. I hate seeing finales that lack closure.
I thought the finale was actually quite comedic - Phil's departure from the gas station, AJ's SUV, AJ's career goals (so accurate for his age!), Meadow's driving, Tony's hijacking of the therapy session about AJ with the therapist aping Dr. Melfi, Carmela's dabbling in real estate, the cat freaking out Paulie, Janice being Janice.... Life goes on in New Jersey, and we don't find out what happens after the window closes.
I thought it was a great ending. A couple of articles today suggested that the "Tony gets whacked" ending is the most likely one, and some Sopranos producer or other (not David Chase) is agreeing that it's a likely scenario.
