Caucus Woes

Am I a geek for watching coverage of the Iowa caucuses? And currently Huckabee is leading for the Side of Darkness?

Seriously?

Do we really need another fundamentalist wacko in the race? Christ on a cracker.

I'm really, really, really hoping that the anti-mormon wacko will get creamed....

Honestly, I'm not as opposed to Huckabee for the Dark Side. I think it would make a very nice connection to the current administration and would just open up a lot of opportunities for attack. He seems so amazingly absurd on so many levels. He will get votes, but I think that's a fight we can win.

You know what I actually kind of like about this particular fundamentalist wacko? I get the sense he's more genuine than most of the others. That is, I think that he is who/what he is because he genuinely feels that way, not because it's a ploy to get votes. I don't get the sense he's playing a part the way so many of the others are - and I think he has a lot of personal charm.

Don't get me wrong, though, I have NO desire to have him in office!! I'd certainly never vote for him. I just like him more than the other evils.

Yeah, I completely agree, and that's what scares the pants off of me. Charismatic fundamentalists are very spooky.

I'm just so excited about even thinking about just having someone- anyone else in the Oval Office. It's finally starting!

I don't know what to think of the candidates on the Dark Side. I keep hoping and praying that someone will jump out and tell me I'm on Candid Camera.

By the way, I really liked Edward's speech. Obama's is sounding really good too. Clinton... not so much. She just didn't seem entirely convinced about it all anymore. Granted, that's a really tough speech to give.

ooo nice line by Obama - "We are not a collection of red states and blue states. We are the United States." Completely empty, but sounds very good, and he certainly delivered it well.

I am just looking forward to someone who CAN speak being in office. Even Clinton's speech that Overread nailed (not sounding convincing - she sounded really, really tired) was articulate and used lots of 2 and 3 syllable words without sounding like she'd trying to explain them to a 5 year old.

I am excited about getting the srub out, but am so nervous that another fundamentalist will end up in there....
